We will be screening Pirate Radio USA at 7:00 p.m. in Chapman Auditorium at Trinity University. This event is open to the public, and the room will hold approximately fifty attendees. We expect that many of those in attendance will be Trinity students who are seeking extra credit in their communication courses, but we hope that others will also attend. Please note that our library has already purchased a copy of the DVD, and we will be using this DVD for the screening.

Reason magazine has reviewed Pirate Radio USA!

It doesn’t seem to be on the website, but that’s an excellent reason to buy the hard copy. It’s a magazine that makes you think, and not necessarily in terms of “left” and “right”. So go check it out, folks, because Libertarians are often misunderstood (even within their own group).

Britain’s groovy new film, The Boat That Rocked is coming to the US this fall with a new title: Pirate Radio.Â What?Â You didn’t know Phillip Seymour Hoffman was a radio pirate?Â Well, at least he plays one on the big screen….This one’s getting theatrical release here, so when your friends start talking about pirate radio and did it ever happen here, don’t forget to point them to Pirate Radio USA for the story here in the States.

Pirate radio: finally an exhibition sport at the Olympics?

After many difficult years of training, radio pirates and media activists have finally reached the pinnacle of radio sport. Â We can only hope that someone gives these Reporters sans Frontiers a gold medal, and not just a quick trip back home!

Hooray!

It was great to get such a swell turnout at both screenings, so winning this prize was certainly icing on the cake.Â Thank you to all the fine folks at STIFF for an excellent film festival, fun parties, great films, and did I mention that trophy?Â Well, they don’t call it a Stiffie for nothing!

Thank you also to all our friends, family, and crew who came to the screenings—it’s a lot of fun watching it with people who laugh in all the right places!
